Where\'s the patch?
Still waiting on a patch to make this game usable, it supposedly went to the testers in Sept!

Re: Where\'s the patch?
Xerxes:
I sincerely apologize for the delay.
We decided that it would be best to fix everything that we could and add some features all at once, so it is taking a little longer. Things are going well, so it should not be long now.

Re: Where\'s the patch?
Hello,
Andrew,
Will we have the Scenario Editor then ?
That'll be great (I wait for that much more than MP...)
Xerxes,
Why do you expect the patch to make the game "playable" ? It's quite playable for me at the moment ... :?

Re: Where\'s the patch?
Yes, the Editor is in.
"playable": There are a number of people who are having problems running the game that Andrew is attempting to get fixed. The problem(s) seem to result from beta testers not having similar problems, so a couple have been added to see if they show up on someone else's system...he's working very hard trying to get things right.

Re: Where\'s the patch?
Guys:
I have cleared everything else out of the way and its ‘Salvo only’ till I get this thing right. No distractions, no side projects. For what its worth, things are going well. I’ll see how the testing goes and let everyone in the Salvo forum know the status soon.

Re: Where\'s the patch?
That's 4 months wait with practically no info, it's really becoming ridiculous, I don't have much faith anymore in the support/future of the game.
And the forum is less lively than an Ermor province* for despairing a little more
Sad, because I liked the theme, the gameplay, but I shelved it.

Re: Where\'s the patch?
It seems to me that the only "lively" forums on this whole site are that of Land of Legends and Weird Worlds (and War Engine). Two of those areboth members of the "Coffee Break" games that are becoming so popular.
I'm willing to give Andrew L. a little slack on this one. The game works (at least on my PC). The big problem with some of these older games are many.
The reviews of the game have been abysmal with many sites giving Salvo! low ratings and very unflattering comments. I think that this is how Coliseum (Stormcloud) lost its appeal to potential buyers and users. I believe that Spruegames has devoted almost their entire interest to Ouborous, a new strategy engine that is supposed to be really successful. Andrew is right to say that only now have they started to work on "Salvo!" again.
Compare the interest in this game to the interest in the other "intensive" wargames on this site (i.e. Desert Rats, Danger Forward, the whole Dragoon series and ProSimCo's BCT/ATF games). None of them have great massive followings like the coffee-break games. Dominions is a huge exception to this as is IT 2.
I have personally gotten a lot of kind response from developers by using one-to-one communication over the email
. I have also found that most of them really do have ten projects going at once (one that they're actually doing and nine that they are dreaming about doing).
I guess that is the reason why I would give him a chance and a word of encouragement.
