Having a wierd MP issue
I don't know what is causing this, but when trying to connect to the Winnowing game that Iron hawk is hosting, it hangs after you enter the port. I have to end the process to get out of it.
This is on port 2002
The other Noob game (name escapes me), I can connect NP 100% of the time.
Now...the only way I can connect to port 2002 at all is by doing the following:
First, Connect to the other noob game @ port 2003. Enter in, password. When it gets to the screen that shows who all has completed their turn, I have to hit exit right there. Go directly into Network Game, this time enter in port 2002. It connects and I can play the turn as normal.
If I were to enter the noob game on port 2003, I would not be able to connect to 2002. It is only when I hit exit on the "Turn" screen prior to entering the map.
Now, when I end the turn in the Winnowing game, it also hangs. It times out and reports the connection to the server as broken. I have to reconnect again using the method above to get my turn in.
Anyone know whats going on?
I did get a new router recently, but this problem happened after the router was all setup and I did 2-3 turns without problem with the new router.

Re: Having a wierd MP issue
this is a known issue w/ hosted games sometimes - you can either keep trying, and eventually likely get in, or, really, you need to have the domII instance closed and restarted on the host computer.
ie, shut it down, restart - this will likely reset the hosting schedule, but that's probably good as people have been having trouble connecting

Re: Having a wierd MP issue
Yes, I was having the same issue and similar solution. I use the God's Eye tool (very handy), but that would fail to connect quickly. So what I'd do is open Gods Eye and connect (nothing would happen), open another Gods Eye and connect (it would work), then I'd open DomII and connect, and it would go thru. Then download the turn, play it, and do the same steps above to upload the turn.

Re: Having a wierd MP issue
In case you don't know how to download your turn, connect to the network, and enter your password when asked, then when you get to the nation selection screen, cancel out. This will have downloaded the turn to your computer. Then you can play the turn on your machine (game is called The Winnowing), when you are done, save the turn, connect to the network again, and it will upload the turn.
