DUTCH TERROR! - Mini Campaign
The campaign is completed and ready for playtesting. There are 2 paths so I will need them both tested. Please be nit-picky especially on the texts. :cig:
Here's the situation.
DUTCH TERROR!
March 23, 2007
Game Version: WinSPMBT 2.51
Campaign Slot # 014
Format: Fixed Core Campaign
Turns: 10 - 15 per scenario
Player: Netherlands
Command Size: Company
Length: 3 Scenario's (maximum)
INTRODUCTION:
Over the past several weeks there has been an increasing number of terrorist incidents in Holland. Intelligence sources believe these attacks are not the work of local Islamic Fundamentalists organizations but are being conducted by a resurgent Al-Qaeda network operating within Europe. It is well known that Al-Qaeda has threatened many European nations with retaliation for their support of and participation in the "Global War on Terror". Usually these incidents are bombings of high profile government buildings or officials but now a new type of target seems to have been added to the Al-Qaeda hit list.
On the evening of March 22, 2007 a large and heavily armed terrorist group descends upon the village of Schalkwijk in central Holland. While initially putting up fierce resistance local police are heavily outgunned and eventually withdraw from the besieged village. Within an hour Schalkwijk is under complete control of the terrorist band with most of the residents either dead, dying or hiding out in nearby woods.
Initially, Dutch authorities thought they would be negotiating with only the town residents as hostages. They were soon to discover that the terrorists had a much larger target in mind, the entire nation of Holland and her neighbors. As negotiations began the terrorist leader informed Dutch authorities he was in possession of a nuclear device. If Holland does not withdraw all of their troops from the Middle East, Afghanistan and the Balkans within 5 days he will detonate the bomb.
Having no intention of complying with these demands, the Dutch Minister of the Interior immediately authorizes a strike on the village by Holland's elite national counter-terrorism unit the Bijzondere Bijstands Eenhid (Special Intervention Force).
Just after midnight on March 23 the Bijzondere Bijstands Eenhid (BBE) begins moving from their assembly area to board transportation to Schalkwijk. Not knowing if the terrorists actually have a device or not means that the mission must be completed swiftly. No quarter is to be given and any movement within the village should be considered a legitimate target.
For this campaign you are the commander of the elite Dutch counter-terrorism unit, the Bijzondere Bijstands Eenhid (BBE). The BBE (Special Intervention Force) is Holland's national counter-terrorism unit. Answering to the Dutch Ministry of the Interior, this unit of approximately 100 operators is considered to be one of the best counter-terrorism units in the world.
NOTE: You will be given NO points with which to upgrade or repair your units so keeping your casualties to a minimum is essential.

Re: DUTCH TERROR! Mini campaign - playtester needed!
Sounds like fun!
One tiny detail though, it's called the 'Bijzondere Bijstands Eenheid' (note the extra e in eenheid).
Narwan
PS but can you pronounce Schalkwijk?

This has now been corrected and some other changes have been made as well.

Re: DUTCH TERROR! Mini campaign
Good work. I just finished airport mission.
Winning was quite easy, the tricky part was keeping troops alive . Too bad you decided to arm the troops with FAL-s - if more of them had mp-5s, player would be forced to work harder to win this one. With FALs my troops were able to decimate the terrorists far too easily .
Anyway, it was very good mission to play.
