Mobhack, I have been working on a new, more accurate Canadian OOB. I have now completed all of the changes and have been testing it. I keep running into this Infantry Section with a .303 2 Brens and grenades that shouldn't exist after 1957 but keeps appearing in the initial purchase screen until you click another option, than it won't appear again until you re-enter the screen. This is a problem because the AI tends to buy lots of this unit even in 1973. Attached is the OOB file for you to have a look at. I am intending to submit this for the next version, and have researched it well. It is extremely accurate especially concerning the dates of service for small arms. Please have a look. Thanks.

Unit No. 83 I presume which is both a template unit in a formation and has an X3 radio code in umpty-five formations?.

Database check utilities - formations - template unit finder - select this unit -> read report.

(Dont think you have the new mobhack with X3 dates check utility either (next release), but that database check report goes bananas on this bad unit too! )

Basically- remove the X3 radio code and/or use another non-x3 radio code rifle section as the template in the formations. Only use an X3 radio code for stuff you want to make available to the human player only, and never to the AI.

I checked the OOB I have - and that unit is not a probem unit there. But that may be a corrected one not issued yet. It does complain about the otter in light air tasnsport formations 182/3/4 or so, so still will need some work.

Mobhack, Thank you very much. I have corrected all of the x3 radio codes of the applicable units. I read the entries in the help section and tried to use the x1 codes for squad configurations that are less common. I have run the AI through about 4 Winter purchases so far at 10000 points apiece, all against northern nations in cold climates and the AI has yet to buy any Ski troops. Is this normal? The AI will not buy any "snow" troops in such weather. There is no special code for such seasonal variations in the MBT AI pick lists.

(in WW2, they will do so, but the WW2 pick lists are individually crafted in C++ code (not driven by DAT files) to e.g. take FallshirmJaeger if the batloc is Crete, not buy SS against the Commonwealth and USA in North Africa etc)
