no hero bonus for the fire mage

is this a bug?

In on game I have both fire kings dropping flames from the sky every turn. despite being #1 and #4 on the hall of fame with around 1000 kills each, (give or take,) and neither of them have a hero bonus.

This made sense to me, a new feature for dom 3 -- you get on the board by using spells which are completely anonymous, well it makes sense that you don't get to reap the rewards of being legendary... the general public don't know its you anyway.

In another game I have caelum's Fire angel, whatever he's called, decked out in gear and stomping armies by tossing flame storm at them, two, three times, then cleaning up with falling fires.

this guy, he's in battle, face to face, reigning firey terror down on his enemies... top of the list in his game for having slaughtered so many... but --- but he also has no hero bonus.

this time it doesn't make sense to me... is this a bug? how is the later case explainable?

the more I look at various cases, it appears that it is a problem inherent in all unique units - that they do not get a hero bonus.

Yea, I have troll kings with kills in the 1000's and they do not get a hero bonus, they are doing there killing via multiple earthquakes...

I had the problem with a banefire king, who was doing his killing by hand.... (or rather banefire shield, I imagine)

troll kings aren't unique... so how the heck does this work?

AFAIK, uniques are not supposed to get heroic abilities, other units are, and troll kings get heroic abilities.

My bad...just checked the game with my troll kings and yes they do have heroic abilities.

Must have got them mixed up with my uniques.

It sort of makes sense in a perverted surreal way though. You don't directly get the info from observation, but from the Hall of Fame fan club. The fates who watch the Hall of Fame give you the intel second-hand. ;-P
