My continual dislike of the UI. The rest of the game is quite reasonable and in some places great for the average player right now.

What's wrong with the UI? It has more commands so it needed more buttons and other than a shuffling of where the buttons were located I'd say that's a pretty minor issue. My biggest problem with SE V is the tech tree and how they choose levels of research over return of research.
