Intelligence sabotage bug
Often in my KOTH game, Myrath has used his evil intelligence network of spies and murderers to disrupt my war effort. Surely he must know that the heinous acts of his intelligence division will lead all of his peoples straight to hell????
IN any case, one of the acts is disrupting my research efforts. I have recently been getting messages that my work on 'blah, blah' has been destroyed and we will have to start from scratch. However, in all cases, the work was completed that turn despite this. I didn't think too much of it as perhaps the research efforts are completed prior to intelligence acts being completed.
But this time, I was researching a muliturn 'item' and was only 3 of 6 turns through when I received the message. I was pissed... damn the Myrathians! However, when I looked at my research queue, it appeared to be totally unaffected despite the message. There were now 2 of six turns remaining and it appeared nothing had occurred...
This must be a bug. Clearly technology disruptions by intelligence are not working.
Thoughts?

Re: Intelligence sabotage bug
Yep, that sure looks like a bug, alright.
Should probably send it to malfador.

Re: Intelligence sabotage bug
If this is Balance Mod, then the effect is to subtract some points from the project - so the points value probably changed, but it wasn't great enough to cause a noticeable effect on the estimated time in this case.

Re: Intelligence sabotage bug
I've noticed in general Intel projects have very minimal effects in SEV.

Re: Intelligence sabotage bug
In stock, the disrupt intel project subtracts 10,000,000 points from the project, making it virtually impossible to research unless you're pulling in research points in the hundred thousands. So not all projects are weak...
It is difficult however to get projects through a player with moderate to good intel defense. The next version of the Balance Mod will feature a leaky intel system, that will be percentage based. So for example, even against a superior opponent with lots of intel defense, you may be able to get your project through.

Re: Intelligence sabotage bug
It is in fact BM... I wonder if you could change the message to reflect what is actually happening during intelligence sabotage with balance mod.
Thanks,
Ken
