Mongoose - Starting (at last!)
It's been quite a while since I ran a game for new/newish players - so I thought I would get one going. This game will run on my automated PBEM server ( www.llamaserver.net ).
This'll be an MA game, played on a modified version of Parganos I've made (attached). It's similar to the normal Parganos map, but I've reassigned the terrain types a bit to make it a bit fairer (so one person doesn't start in an endless swamp, for instance).
There's room for 7 land nations and one water nation.
The timer will be on 24 hour quickhost (i.e. it hosts when all turns are in or after 24 hours, whichever is sooner). Once we reach mid game and the turns start to take longer the timer can be extended to 48 hours if people prefer.
Required level of newishness: Up to you! If you don't feel it would be unfair to play against new players, you're welcome. Probably you'll have played 0, 1 or 2 MP games or so.
Please post and say what nation you'd like! Make sure you read other people's posts to check your nation hasn't already been taken.
If this game overflows I can always start another, as well.
The nations are:
Marignon - Hardfelt
R'lyeh - Sensori
Ermor - Aezeal
Pangaea - BigandScary
Abysia - fabio80mi
Ulm - Eldanesh
Arcoscephale - Loren
Caelum - WonderLlama

This could be fun to try. I have never played any MP games before, so this will be a good learning experience!

Re: Mongoose - Full - but please still post if keen
Darn, I'm too late.
If a spot opens up, I'd like in. Caelum sounds good to me out of what's left.

Okay, Eldanesh can go in this game, and I'll start a second game up later today. WonderLlama can be player #1 in the new game, and I'll save a spot for Chicanist as well.
Eldanesh & Loren - please choose nations and submit your pretenders.

Hey Llama, could I have my start position placed into the smaller sea? While this one's larger and is as such better on paper, it's also damn snaky and makes any fast defense nigh impossible (no 2 province movement through sea provinces). Unlike everyone else, I'd HAVE to have an nation that goes through everyone's lands. Instead, I'd like to have the option rather than be forced to do it. I think that's why Oceania was originally placed in the smaller sea bit - at least it has some level of cohesion.
