Default Playing Utgard ?

Couldn't find any guide for Utgard. Anyway, lots of it's units are the same of Iron Woods and described in that great thread.

Haven't played them "seriously" since dom2, but my favorite tactic (forging the hammer of the forge lord and massing blood contracts) is now broken... got to find something else.

I'm a pretty poor player at that game, but here's how I would use the specific late age troops. I have just tested parts of that. Am I correct ? Any other ideas ?

- Huskarls (humans) : packed with Hirdmen or Woodsmen, they take hits to spare the giants and lower the defense of opponents, but I think indy heavy infantry would be better. I think they are too weak to be packed with javelinists.

- Seithkonas : cheap searchers - nether bolts.

- Nornas : recruit a max on capitol with misfortune at the beginning of the game to prevent bad events. May be nice communion masters. Can easily cast acashic records as utgard has astral income at the beginning of the game.

For the scales, I think order 3 magic 1 (and cold 3 for the points) are a must have.

Is a N9 bless worth the spent points ? Any other ideas for that nation ?

No smarter ideas ?

I've got a pretender and a strategy to design for tomorow.

Sorry, I haven't played Utgard yet. The way I play SP is by choosing a nation randomly and playing a game with them until the same nation gets picked twice, then moving up an era.

So I started this summer, and played maybe a dozen EA nations before getting a duplicate, and so far I've played about 10 MA nations. I'm stuck on MA Pangaea, and with the scales I chose, I really can't afford the armored units so it's turning out very much like EA Pangaea. It hasn't been as fun as some other nations so lately I have been more interested in thinking about the game than playing it.

I have not played yet, though I play the first two giant nations regularly. All those humans turn me off.
