Default EA Niefel sieging

What do people recommend niefel use to besiege forts early in the game? Their decent troops are all really expensive...do you recruit less mages and go for them anyway, or do you recruit chaff, or do you summon something? Or maybe recruit indy chaff?

Hurlers perhaps?
20 strength and a siege bonus of 5 gives them 9 in total siege power. Compare that with a normal human of 1. But are they 9 times more expensive than a human. Not really, they cost 30 gold compared to 10 for standard chaff.

Keep in mind siege strength is the strength stat squared and divided by 100. Meaning, doubling strength actually gets you quadruple sieging power. Long story short, though I don't have the math on hand, giants are great to recruit on a siege power per gold basis. I imagine hurlers are going to be the best siegers due to their additional siege bonus, though it wouldn't hurt to run that math your self (st^2/cost).
