Hey, I started this thread to collect some of the crazier ideas that I have come up with for game scenarios and because I want to avoid cluttering up game threads with excessive theorizing.
Over in the
Global War thread, where there are a number of competing teams (Good, Neutral, and Evil), there was a discussion that connected to the
Assassin game, which got me thinking what it variations of this are possible. Say you have two or more competing teams trying to win the game, and one team (the Evil team) starts with more players. However the fact that one team is larger is balanced out by:
1. Secret enemies. Drake49's idea. Each Evil team member has a secret enemy that it needs to eliminate.
2. Musical chairs: There are a limited number of victory points for Evil, so not all Evil players can win, so they must compete among themselves.
3. Traitors: Some members of the Evil team are actually members of another team or unaligned (which means they must win for themselves). Alternately, some members of the Good team may also be Evil members or unaligned (ie Neutral).
So basically the idea is to vary the idea of a stand-up fight between two factions and to make things more complicated and more interesting. More like real-life if you like.
Anyhow you can also get more ideas by reading up on the
Prisoner's Dilemma at Wikipedia or elsewhere. Game theory also offers some interesting ideas I think. If you think this looks fun, please post your ideas. If not, please post on how to make it more fun.
