				 Re: Early, Middle, Late Age..?
i like that its a magic game first and a strategy game/troop game second....though i will also add that i suck at the magic part, but, every game i get a litttttle bit better....

when it comes to good usage of my gems i never have a good "economy" going with that aspect of things.

so actually i would be better at late age (and i am actually) because of the lesser magic dependancy, but...magic is really what makes this game more than just a turn based strategy wargame.
 so EA all the way.

I started with Early Age with the demo, years ago, and never finished working my way through to the other ages. Although I did get sidetracked at some point and now play mostly Single-Age.

				 Re: Early, Middle, Late Age..?
I tend to avoid LA unless Ermor/R'lyeh are out. (Actually I dislike water nations in general, so even dislike having R'lyeh in other eras R'lyeh but they're really a pain in LA).I think all eras are challenging, it all depends on which nation you play with, so I don't think any age can be dubbed more or less challening than another..

 Challenging in what way?
I play middle and late more and early least, because I find too much magic to be very powerful, tricky and complicated to strategize with. I prefer the mundane forces to be more relevant, and find the Middle and Late nations' national troops more interesting to fight with.

I seem to prefer LA, as I always seem to do very well in LA games but perhaps thats because I have played more LA than alot of other people.
I really like EA however, as you get alot of different beings that are not human and a real sense of power from the nations.

				 Re: Early, Middle, Late Age..?
I play Early Age more, for thematic reasons, and reasons of nation availability. One of the problems though is that there's nothing set in stone about the progress of ages, other than that Early has ambiguously "more" magic, and no crossbows (unless you forge them), middle is the home of Machaka, and Late has crossbow independents, R'lyeh, and Ermor.
I really hope at some point the Devs allow us to play around with the Ages in mods, to be able to add more, and restructure Ages-and maybe set up a framework (a series of tags?) that assigns Ages to spells, magic items, magic sites, Pretenders, and independent population types, so that they can only be used/created/summoned in their appropriate timeframe.
