Another Visitor. Stay awhile. Stay forever!
Darnedest thing I ever saw. Such a cute little mind-sucker.

Thanks for posting that, Jim!
If the Latin name for that lil critter doesn't contain the term "illithiditae", then something's seriously dull in the hallowed halls of Scientific America.
This ofcourse means that, genetically speaking, creating your own real life mind-flayer is not only within the realms of possibility, Nature has actually provided a blueprint.
For those of us old enough to remember: You just don't mess with Mother Nature.

Hard to believe it's a real creature.
It looks like one of Ryleh's void summons.

Re: Another Visitor. Stay awhile. Stay forever!
It is the original graphic which was used for the R'lyeh hero, yes. Somebody posted this years ago, too, together with the scientific name, maybe it was on the Dom2 forum. There are a couple of other graphics that you can find online on the first result pages of Google Image Search which KO used as basis for some units.
I feel old. A lot of new threads that I see popping up, I always want to say "somebody posted that before!", the one before that was vfb's "Playing turns on a network server" tip. I already suggested this a couple of times!

Well, I felt rather clever finding this one, so I didn't know if anyone else had. I actually was searching "cephalopod", and found this on page 3.
Awesome finds as well, Herode!
This guy is pretty cool.
And this is an old favorite.....
OMG It's coming right for us!
(Oh and I'm glad people got the Impossible Mission reference. Seemed appropriate, since the Glass Squid in the first post, is the Visitor. )

That last one is classic! What is it wearing, hiking shoes!?
Lch, "Another Visitor. Stay awhile. Stay forever!" made me feel really old.
