LlamaServer bug hoovering
At some point in a couple of weeks' time, when the students have gone home and I am no longer endlessly attending rehearsals (I am in a panto and an improvised gangster-themed comedy), I may have a bit of time to iron out any issues in the LlamaServer.
Unfortunately I can't remember what they are. I am aware of:
1) The LlamaServer will let you upload maps with spaces in their filenames, but then when you start the game it will crash. This has been the cause of almost all the things I've had to fix in the last few months. Which has only been a few, so on the whole it's been very low maintenance.
2) I've unplugged the LlamaServer 3 times recently to cannibalise its cable, and each time forgotten to replace it for the best part of a day. Sorry. I've bought a new cable now though.
So, can people think of any other issues that they would like dealing with? If you have PMed me in the past, now would be a good time to remind me.

Re: LlamaServer bug hoovering
1) same for mods
Also - there is some curse that makes some games get lost in time and space [Preponderance ages ago, Warcry recently] :P
BTW, maybe add an option of double reminder emails? In late game it would be nice to have for example 48 + 12h reminders.

Re: LlamaServer bug hoovering
I can't think of any bugs offhand, but it would be useful to have a RAND game version of the game pages on llamaserver, so if you are playing that sort of game certain details are hidden from the eyes of the players.

Re: LlamaServer bug hoovering
Well i know of a couple games that have been sitting idle on llamaserver for weeks/months and could be deleted since llamaserver doesn't seem to want to delete them anymore.

Re: LlamaServer bug hoovering
Same for mods - noted.
Curse - yeah, unfortunately these rare events are very hard to track down. I did my best to make it log things clearly, but unfortunately it's essentially hopeless. Still, let me know when something happens and if I pounce quickly maybe some time I'll be able to work it out.
RAND - ah yeah, someone PMed me about that. Was it you?
Oh, abandoned games - yeah, it seems the LlamaServer self-cleanup code completely doesn't work. That would be worth fixing for sure. All those "Waiting for pretenders" games are pretty annoying.

Yeah, that was me. I don't recall all the various things I suggested hiding... I think I'll go make a thread for it.

Re: LlamaServer bug hoovering
Well Quitti, those errors are unfortunately due to dom3 bugs rather than anything to do with the server. There's very little the server can do about them. Did it behave reasonably (i.e. attempt a rehost, and if that failed then just stale everyone and move on)? That behaviour is the most sensible that I can think of.

Re: LlamaServer bug hoovering
Yeah it did stale rehost it through. And it did work fine until then, so I'm wondering if it has something to do with the mods or map we're using...

Re: LlamaServer bug hoovering
When I looked at the title of this thread, I thought maybe you did something to llamaserver accidentally while vacuuming
