hunter of heroes
In one of my games, for about 5 turns now there is a good chance that the hunter of heroes appears and makes dinner of one of my commanders. The commandres didnt have horror mark, most of them were researching or sieging. Is it because of my astral corruption? (it was cast at the same turn when HoH first appeared).
or sent by someone else? does he chooses randomly from my commanders?

Re: hunter of heroes
It's the astral corruption. Anytime anyone casts a non-blood ritual or forges an item, there's a chance of being hit by a horror. The more gems used, the greater the chance and the more powerful the horror.

Re: hunter of heroes
But my commanders didnt cast anything.
By "more gems" do u mean the gems used for the AC, or the gems used for the spell that triggers the effect of AC?

Re: hunter of heroes
Gems used for spells or item creation that triggers an attack by a horror. So for example, if you forged a sceptre of authority you might get a lesser horror, you might not. If you forged the forbidden light... well, now you are asking for doom horrors to come eat you.

Re: hunter of heroes
If your commanders didn't cast/forge anything, then it shouldn't be Astral Corruption.

Re: hunter of heroes
AC causes the Hunter of Heroes to hunt down and kill commanders in the HoF. You don't need to be horror marked.
Anyone who can cast Dispel can also script returning. But since slaves are so cheap, it's difficult to Dispel AC because it's often cast at 999 slaves.
