No they do not.
Tanks and other AFV tend to draw fires, which can be hazardous to the health of any infantry in the same hex.
cheers

Re: wondering
All I know is when a vehicle and an infantry share the same hex and the enemy fires at the infantry, it feels like most of the shots hit the vehicle instead of the infantry.

It is my impression too. It seems that AFVs do offer some protection to infantry in the same hex

I wonder if this is because you hear rounds pinging off armour, but not off infantry?
It doesn't mean the infantry aren't getting supressed.
You could run a test...

Re: wondering
Whats bigger infantry or the vehicle?
The vehicle therefore more chance for stray shots to hit it & you hear them.
Sharing a hex with any unit but esp a vehicle means the units are more likely to be suppressed due to other units in the hex attracting fire.
Given the choice if all other things are equal I will always fire at the hex containing both infantry & a vehicle rather than a single unit. I get extra suppresion possibly damage for free meaning the second unit in the hex often stops firing early due to suppression which makes things a whole lot easier.

When the bullets hit the vehicle instead of the infantry which was the target, I don't think I have ever seen the infantry in question lose any men with that particular shot. I am sure it gets suppressed, but lose men...not according to my experience. Unless of course I am very lucky/unlucky all these games.
When something big, bomb, shell from artillery etc, hits it then it feels the result might be a little different, but still different enough (than when there is no vehicle present) to make it worthwhile (depending on other factors of course) to leave an armoured vehicle on the same hex.
