4CMBG: The Dirty Patricia's
I've been off the forum for awhile but I've still been trying to produce scenarios in the available time I have. The following is a NATO/Warsaw PACT scenario based upon the hypothetical involvement of the 4th Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group in the FRG (1985). I have 4 scenarios in the set but this is the first sequentially and the only one I've tweaked enough to post. I also have a prequel scenario involving German Heer forces but that's a long way in development.
This is a meeting engagement between recce elements, reinforced on both sides as the game progresses (see the scenario text). The Canadian object is to block a Czech probe which would flank the main Canadian positions north of the map. The scenario is designed to be played as the Canadians, and some of the Czech forces have pre-planned movement.
Pay attention to the terrain on the map, and make your dispositions accordingly. All the scenarios are developed using the online map tool, modified as I think it appeared in the 80's. The Canadians (much as in real factors in the 80's) are weak on armour. Decide what to hold and what to give up as the game progresses.
I hope the Czech tactics give you a challenge. The problem of scenario design is knowing how I've set the OPFOR, where they're coming from and what their objectives are. So in playtesting, I've tried to set the balance and then my objective in the test is to gauge comparative losses. After twelve attempts with the final version, I still took greater casualties than I expected.
I'm working on the remaining three scenarios and hope to have them in an acceptable state (at least by my standards) soon. Hope this one is acceptable for a fun play.

Re: 4CMBG: The Dirty Patricia's
I played through. No issues noted.
The Canadians need to set up infantry ambushes in the towns to deal with the Russian armor.
The M150 Tow launchers are a Godsend. I kept them well behind the lines and had forward units lay smoke to screen them. They picked off a lot of the T-72. Tow jeeps helped but not as much due to their ammo capacity.

Re: 4CMBG: The Dirty Patricia's
Dirty Patricias: A Fun Scenario
I enjoyed playing the scenario very much. As usual 1Grantpa has given us a scenario with great gameplay requiring the player to think outside the box, to manage his or her forces, and to develop a plan that accounts for the terrain. 1Grantpa said it and you best believe: "Pay attention to the terrain on the map, and make your dispositions accordingly." I thought of deploying the Canadians in a defense in depth with kill zones in the open spaces. However, I opted to deploy my force around the VF objectives in the villages of Ottmaring, Mandorf, and Kirchdorf bei Osterhofen. I intended to block the Czechs in those three places, but leaving the Czech to believe I had not entered the villages, then maneuver the Dirty Patricia's to flank and counter-attack the Czech forces from their rear.
Now, please indulge me in a few observations. - Kudos for applying Range & Filter to vehicles. I found them "spot on" and deadly effective.
- I agree the unit AA1 M113 Ammo is set to reinforce at turn 50 as it is not needed; although, including it in the scenario would not take away from the gameplay.
- I cross-attached these two units to P Hq D-Coy PPCLI: U section M113/TOW, and V platoon Leopard C1.
- Lastly, I created four reconnaissance troops surrounding a squadron headquarters from the Royal Canadian Dragoons (RCD) of the 4th Canada Mechanized Brigade Group (4CMBG) using cross-attach in the Editor as follows (primary source:https://www.canadiansoldiers.com/):

Re: 4CMBG: The Dirty Patricia's
Another bonus with this one is the map it makes quite a nice generated battle map. Trim 20-30 hexes of the respective end so the towns in the middle fall on the defenders side if its not a meeting.

Re: 4CMBG: The Dirty Patricia's
.......and when the next update is released anyone who has played this will notice that a number of the Icons used by both sides are either new or revised.
And Yes, the map is quite good and I will add it to the maps folder
