Gold Component modders
are there any component modding programs out right now for gold? I was waiting on them to update my mod, but I haven't seen any. could just be that I'm blind, but if anyone knows about one, where can I download it?

Re: Gold Component modders
Krsqk made one pre-gold that works for gold. It's good for making several levels of a tech from one base tech. It doesn't modify the file directly though. You have to cut and paste. You can get it in the scenario/modding tools forum.
Gimboids comp modder is definetly not Gold compliant, but he is working on updating it.
Not sure about any others.

Re: Gold Component modders
My component editor is currently in process of being converted from wPython to VBasic. This would go faster if my home were not in the process of being converted from northwest Florida to Orlando. RL has a way of interfering with the really important things.
Anyway, my goal for the next Version out is simply to have a smaller download (not 2.5MB). After that, I'll start looking at adding more features.

It has been updated and is now proudly Gold compliant .
Download size is tiny, and unpacks to 120kb when unzipped.
Some features are not yet implemented but once this uni semester is over im sure ill get to it. It still has alot of features that i like already in it, like browsing of the entire component tree, etc.

Re: Gold Component modders
I am slowly but surely converting my mod from IV to IVAu. Just hoping to speed it up a bit, as I did most of the original comp modding with a program for it.
Couple of questions: how do you change the size of population, ie the amount of space they take up in cargo bays, a la proportions? I haven't been able to duplicate that.

Re: Gold Component modders
From settings.txt:
Quote:
Population Mass := 5
Reproduction Check Frequency := 1
|
The first line is the amount in kt per 1M pop. The second line is how often reproduction is checked (1=every turn, 5=2x/year, etc.)
[edit: forgot to say which file. *smacks head*]
