Default SEIV Auto Host tool

If there is a tool like this already, then I apologize for posting this inferior thread =).

Anyways, this is straight from the readme:

-------
#mm's Space Empires IV Auto Host
v1.0
seiv@waogo.com
-------

This tool will let you host a Play by Email (we call it play by FTP) session without worriying about doing your turns manually.

Just setup an FTP where your players can upload their turn files and where they can access the new saved game, and run the tool.

The tool will sit on your system tray and check when all the turn files are uploaded, process the turn and send an email (if so desired) to the players informing them about the new avaliable turn.

There is nothing fancy about the tool and we wrote it in a day, just before we began our first game.

Anyways, put the tool anywhere you want, as long as it's next to it's .ini file and you should be ready.

Also, the tool uses MAPI to send the email (not the best way, but the easiest and fastest to code). We didn't pay much attention to this part and that's we used MAPI since we just wanted to get it running in our host PC.

Source is avaliable on request if you so desire to modify it.

---

Hope you guys (PBEM type) find any use of this tool. We wrote it for internal use, but there's no point in not releasing it.

Download SEIV Auto Host 1.0.

I made something similar, but much simpler, and never posted it for general use...

The one cool feature I added in was that it would blink the "num lock" "scroll lock" and "caps lock" lights on my keyboard to indicate who's turns were submitted, and when the turn processing was done

Hey all,

I uploaded a new Version of this tool, v1.0 had some bugs caused by some leftover debugging code.

This one should be good to go.

Download Version 1.0b

Would you be able to make use of an addon program to blink the keyboard lights?

I could write one that periodically checks the default directory for certain files, and turns the lights on or off in response.

You program would just have to run mine, amd then create a file (no content required) called "CapsOn.flg", say, and which would turn the caps light on.

There would be at a minimum,
"xyz_On"
"xyz_Off"
"xyz_Blink"
"program_quit"

I could also easily add some pattern blinking, such as sweeping left to right.
