Controlling A.I. in play by web?
Is there any way to limit the A.I. that takes over when a player misses a turn in play by web? My players are concerned that the A.I. might kick in and do something stupid like forming an alliance with an enemy, allowing his ships to invade. Can one specify that, e.g., diplomatic decisions NOT be made? Or, that the A.I. just doesn't kick in at all, and the empire just finishes existing order queues?
Thanks for any info,
Merry

You can turn off minister changes to a multiplayer game by selecting the checkbox in the ministers window.

Re: Controlling A.I. in play by web?
There is a "no AI" mod floating around somewhere. What it does is create a new minister type: "None" that basiclly instructs the AI to do nothing. Unfortunately it only works if you set it up beforehand..
There is a checkbox in Empire Options (?) that says "AI should not make changes in simultanious games". Try that, but be warned it doesn't work so well.

Re: Controlling A.I. in play by web?
You can also use the "No AI mod" on PBW. You don't have to download anything for that, it's a server only mod. For it you don't have to set up your emp special before the game, but you can't use it for games with some human and some AI opponents. Cause it stops all AI from working.

Geoshmo, thank you for clarifying. Does the suggestion Arkcon made below work for PBW games with A.I. enemies?

Phoenix D, does the no-ai mod you refer to work on PBW? Thanks, Merry
