Hi guys,

Just a OOC here, I will add something to the story behind my Race. But I notice something, and I cant believe that I didnt see it earlier, I am a Gas race and just noticed my one and only HW is Ice *ugh*

how did that happen? haha. Dont get me wrong, I aint whinning (maybe a bit, but that is just me), just wondering how that happend.

Ok, back to working on my turn.

Darned.
That happened to many before the restart.
We are using Fyrons QM with a good homeworld, so it shouldn't happen but it has.
But I specifically asked everyone to check their HW's after the restart, so you'd better not be whining!

Now you'll have to see it as a challange!

yea, the sad thing is that I remember you asking us to check it, but I guess it took me a while to get around to it

The only reason I caught it, I was wondering what I could do to get more minerals then noticed that my HW only had 2000 mil pop on it and thought that was wierd for a gas planet

then I see that it is an ICE *sobs*

Actually it shouldn't make any difference.
I belive everyone started with 2 billion people.
So if it got your atmosphere right (And if you've got 2 billion in pop you do) it shouldn't make any difference.
It's a medium sized ice instead of a medium sized gas, and they should both be able to support the same amount of people.

It can be a hassle to explain storywise though....

Are you using the latest Version of FQM? Are you using a custom map, or a totally random one?

A random map with manually pre-set starting locations.
First some got wrong atmosphere and wrong size so all HW's were altered in the map editor to medium sized before the game was restarted.
Now I haven't heard anyone complain about the size or atmosphere, and I for one got the right type too.
It's standard FQM I don't remember the Version but i think it's the latest, I downloaded it from your sig about a month ago I think, I can check when I get home.

1 starting planet good conditions if I remember correctly.
I think it was dense paradise, but I'm not sure anymore.
I still have the map at home, I can't look at it as I'm playing in the game but I could send it to .you later

Started on a medium ice world too, although my race is rock-based. 2000M starting pop, no prob. I think the different planet type is no problem too, unless I somehow loose my homeworld then it's a disadvantage as I cannot colonize it back again. But in that case I think I will have other problems to worry on I guess

HA! I can explain away the reason for finding myself on an Ice planet. I will have to work on that so I can add my story to the thread.

The head of the colonization department burst into Ruatha's office.
"-What is these rumours I hear about?
We are short on colony ships to colonize all the rock worlds that lay before us, yet you've put two of our precious colony ships up for sale to aliens!
Wait till the next Tingsrad session Ruatha. I bet this will be your Last period as Talman!!"

"-Now, now! Calm yourself Tina!
Those ships will be exchanged for other colony ships from those aliens you are talking about.
Soon we'll have capacity to colonize not only rock planets but also ice and gas planets!
Isn't it fabulous?"

"-Are you mad??
As I said we have plenty of rock planets to Last us a generation!!
Now we'll have to exchange these ships, take them apart and learn that new technology, it will take ages. Instead we could have two new productive colonies within a month!
And when will we have a chance to build these fancy ice and gas colonizers?
The shipyards are shutting down one after another due to resource shortage. We can't even build enough rock colony ships!!
I don't belive anyone could have butched up his job as good as you Ruatha.
After the next Tingsrad you'll be history!!

The colonization minister turned around with her nose high and left with a contempteous look on her face.
Ruatha had a worried frown on his face as he felt the burden of the whole nation upon his shoulders.
