AI Moving Fighters In-System
Someone asked me this on my Highliner thread, but I'm stumped as to a solution.
How do you get the AI to use Fighters in strategic combat?
EDIT - I'm assuming this is other than from carriers...

Re: AI Moving Fighters In-System
As far as I know, you can't.
Sometimes you see a few fighters on the map, but those are left over from a battle and they don't move.

Re: AI Moving Fighters In-System
I am not sure if I understand your question correctly: In strategic combat I see no problem for the AI with fighters but probably you mean that the AI moves fighters in the system without carriers.
That indeed I never saw the AI doing, not even to resupply the fighters. One more thing for the next patch!

That's what I think Maleldil was asking in his question here. I'd never seen it either, but I wanted to double-check with the more experienced folks here.
Well, that's that then. Not that I won't continue to tinker with my AIs to make them tougher...

He said on the system map..that's a bit different from Strategic combat.

Re: AI Moving Fighters In-System
A single carrier full of fighters can decimate an entire system in a few turns if it would only launch them and send them out to different planets, but the AI keeps them in the carrier.

This, maybe, I can fix. What I'll try doing is adding some more specialty fighter types to the design and construction files for the AI's (in this case, fighters designed to attack planets), and see if the AI uses them.
