Amount of AI\'s in a Game
I know you can mess with the amount of Neutrals verses ai empires in a game, but is it possible to have more than twenty players in a single player game?

Re: Amount of AI\'s in a Game
It isn't possible to have more than 20 empires in any game.
EDIT: this includes rebel empires, BTW. So if an empire tries to split off mid game and there are already 20 empires, it won't. It'll either defect to another empire or stay with the original.

Re: Amount of AI\'s in a Game
Two questions,
Under what circumstances does an empire rebel or split up?
Where is this controlled in the data files?
I have never seen something like this.

Well, a planet left to riot will sometimes split off IIRC. The only other method I know of is Puppet Political Parties. When this intel project succeeds, sometimes the target joins the attacking empire and sometimes it forms its own.

I wonder if this could be made into an "Event".
Nothing like a little civil war to spice things up.

There is an event that does that, at least in that your planets can start to riot and then break off after a few turns.

Where is this Event? Is there any way to make it happen more often? I have never seen a riot lead to a break-away Empire, so I am interested if there is way to soupe-up this event.

In the event.txt file :
Type := Planet - Population Rebel
Severity := High
Effect Amount := 1
Message To := Owner
Num Messages := 1
Message Title 1 := Rebellion
Message 1 := The population of [%PlanetName] has rebelled against us and formed a new nation.
Picture := PopulationAngry
Time Till Completion := 0
Num Start Messages := 0
Copy and paste it several times. That will make it happen more often. Just watch out for DOUBLE SPACE LINES while doing this
