 As long as you're combo'ing with a couple shamans eagle eye + tangling vines/vine arrow seems like a good bet too.  Or swarm.

If you have someone or something which is doing a Heal action, it applies to all units in the province, not just the commander who is healing/has the Healing object. E.g. the Chalice will heal regular troops and other commanders in the same province, not just its own commander.
