I think Corwin's out for the weekend, we'll probably carry on when he gets back.

Perhaps you should just randomly assign nations, Corwin, since not too many have sent in candidates.

Or randomly add nations to the set to randomly assign nations from. Seems a shame to throw away the selections we've made so far.
I'm keen to get started though. Are you around Corwin?

Re: "A Song of Ice and Fire", veterans-only game, MA. Closed - map, nations selection
Hi guys. Sorry, I've been MIA for the last few days - I was away from civilization camping on the weekend, as I have warned earlier in this thread, and on Monday I've had family emergency that has been taking all my free time for the last few days and will keep doing so for a day or two more. My apologies.
Nevertheless I fully intend to kick this show on the road very soon - this week, over the weekend. Meanwhile since I am currently swarmed, if somebody could help me a bit and take a good look at the collection of available maps (Lamabeast has suggested llamaserver.net, which has large collection of maps), and choose 2-3 interesting maps that fit our criteria (about 15 provinces per players, 11 players total) for the final consideration, it would be awesome and I would really appreciate it.
Meanwhile - here is final list of players, together with nations they have chosen to throw into the virtual hat:
1. Baalz - Ulm
2. Aethyr - Vanheim
3. Squirreloid - Agartha
4. Dimaz - Abysia
5. Fakeymcfake - C'tis
6. Lingchih - Pythium
7. Llamabeast - T'ien Ch'i
8. PriestyMan(FL) - Shin
9. Graeme Dice(Diceman) - ???
10. Ghoul31 - Pangeya
11. Myself - Jotunheim
The only player who hasn't picked up a nation to throw into the hat is Graeme Dice. I'll send him PM in few minutes.
Here is the aprox. schedule for the game launch I would like to propose:
1. For the next 2 days, until Friday - finalize map selection, Graeme Dice submits his nation, I roll the dice and assign all nations to the players.
2. Friday - start designing and sending pretenders.
3. On Sunday (assuming the everybody has created and sent their pretenders by then) -
The Song of Ice and Fire will ring in the air, shaking the foundations of the mountains, diving into bottomless oceans, reaching to heavens, calling to experienced warriors, wizards and warlords to clash in the titanic struggle to claim the eternal Throne.

Re: "A Song of Ice and Fire", veterans-only game, MA. Closed - map, nations selection
corwin - i will be gone friday-sunday this weekend, so if you could give nations out tomorrow asap that would be really helpful so that i could make a pretender hopefully tomorrow and send it in/to you before i leave, then i could not be holding up the game. if not, i'm really sorry to be the cause for more delay.

Re: "A Song of Ice and Fire", veterans-only game, MA. Closed - map, nations selection
Heh, it looks like both Graeme Dice and Fakeymcfake have chosen their 2nd pick as Machaka (based upon Graeme Dice's PM and Fakeymcfake's posting). Considering that they both selected C'tis as their first choice, it looks like they are certainly on the same brainwave. Regardless of who selected what, both Machacka and Ct'is has been added to the hat.
At the end, the virtual hat with all our choices looks like this:
1. Baalz - Ulm
2. Aethyr - Vanheim
3. Squirreloid - Agartha
4. Dimaz - Abysia
5. Fakeymcfake - C'tis
6. Lingchih - Pythium
7. Llamabeast - T'ien Ch'i
8. PriestyMan(FL) - Shinuyama
9. Graeme Dice - Machaka
10. Ghoul31 - Pangeya
11. Myself - Jotunheim
I've asked by Priestyman to speed up nation selection if I can, so he could create his pretender before leaving for the weekend and perhaps delaying the launch date. So I am going to go ahead and roll the dice now. The map selection will be done tomorrow(Friday) evening, unless I'll get some volonteer to help me choose the map today.

...And so Dices of Fate have been thrown. Round and round they went, and as when they have finally stopped, the great collective sigh has been released by the owners of many mortal and immortal eyes who have been tracking dices movement closely...
In an age not yet dawned, the generations of bards will sing ballads and the piles of history books will be written with these names of the mighty nations and their cunning leaders, who had burned the Song of Ice and Fire with their steel, magic and blood into the very foundation of this world, changing it forever...
1. Baalz - Shinuyama
2. Aethyr - Ulm
3. Squirreloid - Pangeya
4. Dimaz - Vanheim
5. Fakeymcfake - Abyssia
6. Lingchih - Tien Chi
7. Llamabeast - Jotunheim
8. PriestyMan(FL) - Machaka
9. Graeme Dice - C'tis
10. Ghoul31 - Agartha
11. Corwin - Pythium
