Re: "A Song of Ice and Fire", veterans-only game, MA. Closed - map, nations selection
With considerable regret guys, I think I'd better drop out of this game. I'm very sorry - particularly if Ironhawk's already done the map (hope not!). I just realised that I don't reliably get to the computer in the evenings these days - it often takes me a few days to get round to some five-minute e-mail or llamaserver fix, so I don't think I'd be a reliable player in a game of this size. Basically I think I would be hoping to lose so that I didn't get into the mid/endgame, which of course is a ridiculous way to play.
I'm getting a new laptop soon, which I will put in my own room; my computer's currently in the lounge and basically people constantly come and talk to me when I'm doing stuff on it (I live in a shared house). Lovely and very sociable, but leads to little computer time. Hopefully once I have the new computer I may find the time to join a game again with some of you.
Sorry again Corwin and Ironhawk for dropping out at a very unhelpful moment.

I'll take Jotunheim if it is indeed available.

Hooray! Thanks Dr P!
Dr P is much more of a vet than me anyway so this is a win for everyone.
If anyone needs any subbing done in this game, I will quite likely be up for it.

It's a pity to loose you llamabeast but understand your circumstances. Hopefully we will get chance to play some other time.
Welcome to the game DrPraetorious.
Ironhawk is still working on the map for our game, please stay tuned.

Re: "A Song of Ice and Fire", veterans-only game, MA. Closed - map, nations selection
The IronHawk has finished creating a modified map for us. (many thanks man!)
The game "A Song of Ice and Fire" has been created on llama server!
Please upload your pretenders. The game will start as soon as uploading is completed.
The Song is in the air, riding summer winds, whispering from the shadows, on the edge of the lips, waiting to be sung...

Would any of the people playing in this game be willing to play the first couple of turns for me?

Re: "A Song of Ice and Fire", veterans-only game, MA. Closed, uploading pretenders.
One note about the start positions I made for your game: the map Cradle is somewhat unbalanced in terms of terrain and chokepoints. To that end, I tried to balance starting positions in a more general way, giving nations with poorer starts more area to expand and nations with great starts more competition.
So, if you feel like your starting position is not so hot, don't worry too much. And if you started next to a load of plains / farmlands, then expect your neighbors to come calling soon...

It's much better to find replacement from outside the game Graeme. Please try your best to do so.
But if worst come to worst, I could play first few turns for you, assuming we are far enough from each other so it would not give me any unfair advantage (intellegence most likely) over my neighbours.

Great, thank you for letting us know IronHawk. I knew you would do a great job on balancing starting locations even on such difficult map.
