Something mildly interesting about remote mining
I have suspected this for a while, but just confirmed it through a test. Income generated from remote mining is not shared with your trade partners. So if you were a race that got a lot of it's income from remote mining your allies would be potentially getting less benefit from the treaty than you, even though if you both had equal economies. Could be something someone would want to do on purpose I suppose. Just thought I'd point it out.

Do racial bonuses apply to remote mining?

No, I don't think that they do.

Re: Something mildly interesting about remote mining
so then a really low scoring race should pursue remote mining and they won't suffer their racial penalties! (?)

Re: Something mildly interesting about remote mining
Yep, and form lots of trade alliances, while you slowly leech the resources out of the quadrant...

Assuming I am right, anyways. Maybe someone should test that.

Re: Something mildly interesting about remote mining
Confirmed, racial characteristics have no effect on remote mining.
