Re: Race Ages (Direct from the .exe file)
Of course, if race age weren't saved with the empire file, it wouldn't be worth too much, either. Unless you're into those really peaceful games that end up into year 4400.

Re: Race Ages (Direct from the .exe file)
Applying these race ages to the Babylon 5 races, do you think they fit something like this?
Humans - Infantile
Narn - Infantile
Centauri - Young
Minbari - Young
Shadows - Stellar Ancients
Vorlons - First Ones
For Star Trek, I guess everybody is Infantile?

I would think not. Some of the races have been around for several hundred to a couple thousand years in space.

I thought that the shadows were older than the vorlons? The Shadows and Vorlons are nearly the same age, with Shadows being a bit older. I would put both of them in the same age Category, probably Stellar Ancients (as there are races far older than either of them).

Re: Race Ages (Direct from the .exe file)
Shadows are older than the Vorlons.
From the Babylon 5 Chonology Page: LINK:
"They were old when even the Ancients were young" ("In the Shadow of Za'Ha'Dum");
"The first of these Ancients were the Shadows" ("Matters of Honor")].
I am such a geek

Re: Race Ages (Direct from the .exe file)
In a really interesting RP game of SEIV, you could have races and players with widely-varied levels of technology. There race age could come with different bonuses and not unbalance the game, or at least not affect the imbalances, so to speak. I don't think I'd roleplay well enough for that situation. When other races disagree with me, I at least PLOT their annihilation if I cannot carry it out. (insert Dr Evil laugh here)
Of course, that wouldn't be the usual total annihilation scenario we all know and love.

Re: Race Ages (Direct from the .exe file)
No, the Shadows are not the oldest. There are several races much older than the Shadows. Remember Lorien? He is the first one of the first race to come to sentience. He is not a Shadow. The Shadows are a younger race to him.

I submit. Before this thread becomes over-run with Bab 5 trivia. Stay , Imperator.
