Default Mod problem

Hi guys!
I'm new to this game and love it to bits all ready! I'm sure that loads of you play with the ASTMod, so maybe some of you can help me out. I have installed:
ASTMod
Components v1.1
Planets v1.8
Facilities v1.8
as instructed on the new age shipyards website. My only problem is that I can't figure out how to play with the star trek races. When I start a new game, I click on 'add exisiting race', then change the subsequent directory so that the list of star trek races pops up. However, whenever I click on the race it tells me that it is 'unable to load c:\space empires IV\AST\Empires (race name).emp
What am I doing wrong?
Help!
Many thanks

It sounds like to me is that the Path.txt is not working correctly. I recomend that you use the Mod Launcher and then REFRESH it, and load the AST mod using it.

To verify that your PATH text is correct, open it with note pad and see if it is directed to AST or NONE. If it is NONE, change it to AST, then start the game.

Additionally try this: Verify that all of the EMP files for each race (8472, Borg, Breen, Cardassian, Federation, Ferengi, Klingon, and Romulan 2, 3, 5k are all in the AST/Empires folder.

Second, make sure you are using the latest Version of the ASTmod (1.4) With 1.4 the EMP files changed. The old EMP files will no longer work.

If you must, delete all the emp files in the AST/Empires folder and then place the 1.4 EMP files for each race into the AST/Empire folder.

The mod was set up to do this automatically, but things do error. When stating SEIV, Go to the Players Tab and click USE EXSISTING. This will open the EMPIRE FOLDER. From there you should be able to select the Star Trek EMP files. Remember that they are catagorized by name and racial points. (2k 3k 5k) If you attempt to use a 5k emp file with 2k racial points selected, it will not work.

(NOTEAlso to avoid the missing planet problem, be sure to rename all of the NewPlanet, NewFacility, NewComponent.bmp's to Planet, Facility and Component.

If your still having problems trying to load the EMP files, delete the AST mod completely.

Then reinstall it.

Let me know if any of these worked.

Hi,
Thanks for the speedy reply. I used the path.txt file you sent me in the email but it didn't work. I then downloaded the newest Version of the mod (1.4) and reinstalled it all along with the components, facilities and planet mods. What happens now is that the title screen starts up and the loading bar comes up and then the following message appears:

Components Data File Errors: c:\games\space empires IV gold\AST\Data\Components.txt
- Unknown value "Two per vehicle" for Restrictions in record "Impulse engine I"
- Unknown value "Two per vehicle" for Restrictions in record "Impulse engine II"
- Unknown value "Two per vehicle" for Restrictions in record "Impulse engine III"
- Unknown value "Two per vehicle" for Restrictions in record "Impulse engine IV"
- Unknown value "Two per vehicle" for Restrictions in record "Impulse engine V"
-Unknown value "Ships\Sat" for Weapon target in
record "Anti-ship warhead I"
-Unknown value "Ships\Sat" for Weapon target in record "Anti-ship warhead II"
-Unknown value "Ships\Sat" for Weapon target in record "Anti-ship warhead III"

Any ideas what has gone wrong. Once this message pops up and I close the window. I am only able to quit the game.
Thanks

Have you got the latest SE4G patch? "Two per vehicle" was only added to the game recently IIRC. If you're not using v1.78 I suggest you download the patch from Malfador's site and try again.
