Default Question on Analyzing Ships for Tech

My intelligence operatives, at great risk to their own skins, were able to incite the crew of a Cue Cappa light cruiser ship to revolt and throw off the yoke of their oppressive masters.

Running low on supplies but high on morale, they made a daring escape from deep in enemy territory through the edges of a dangerous black hole system. Seeing their potential plight with low supplies, a brave rescue fleet rendezvoused with them just as they ran out of fuel and were being sucked into the event horizon of the black hole. Saved from a certain death at the Last possible moment the trembling crew was given a heroes welcome when they disembarked, safe at Last, on one of my rim outpost worlds. Seeing Telekinetic Projector V components on board, my scientists and engineers eagerly reverse engineered the ships, destroying it in the process. Quickly I scanned my components for the new tech but none was found. I turned to my chief scientist for an answer. He just looked at me, shrugged and said, "beats me, boss, ask the SE4 forum".

So, okay now, what gives? Why didn't I get the tech? I'm supposing that maybe it's tech specific to the Cue Cappa race and that's why? Anybody know?

Also, it sure would be nice if you got a message after you analyze something telling you if you succeeded or failed in the analysis and what tech you gained. Right now it appears you get nothing in the way of information on this.

If you don't have that field of tech to build them then your race does not understand the tech and can not use it.
It is the same for transferring tech, you can use what you don't have.
e.g Organic, Crystalline and Religious fields.

Okay, thanks, I thought it might be something like that.

There is a meesage in the log if the analysis is succesful. The log is in the group of upper right buttons just below the planets and between the Empires and Empire status buttons. If you don't look at the log on the turn that you analyze the ships it will show you at the start of your next turn.
