That looks great!

There needs to be a naming convention to separate those Real Time Strategy games in which you have a limited number of units, from those where you have gatherers and use resources to build units and structures, research better units, and add to the capabilities of the units and structures you already have.

Before we heard the term RTS, by friends and I called games like Warcraft, Age of Empires, Command and Conquer and their relatives 'Consumption Based Strategy Games' because we saw the 'economic' side of the game as the defining element of the genre, while various 'tank games' and a few oddities like MechCommander's predecessors (Crescent Hawk's Revenge if I remember correctly) and Commandos were simple Turnless Strategy games.

I will admit that Real Time Strategy works better than Turnless Strategy, but there ought to be a simply way to divide the (blatantly unrealistic) 'gatherer games' from the 'tank games'.

Are there such terms? Did I miss out? Are there any that are, perhaps, beginning to be used?

The phrase the mechcommander people took to using was "real time tactical"
