The Arachnid Consortium
I'd pay 20 bucks to anyone who would make me some cool pics & a cool shipset for The Arachnid Consortium Right now the pics I'm useing are the purple eyestalks-looking critters...not exactly in the Family (or is that Order?) Arachnidae....
I kinda like the pointy ships with wings...non-aerodynamic looking ships don't appeal to me Of course, in space, aerodynamics don't count, but, they GOTS to look cool

Re: The Arachnid Consortium
That's OK -- I had to look it up in a Bio textbook. But the point is that Arachnids are pretty wide-ranging. Do you want your race to look like giant wolf spiders or giant daddy longlegs or giant scorpions? Or maybe they are a colony organism with a diffuse intelligence, so your race pic should be a big heap of ticks swarming over a host organism?

Oh, yeah. DUH!!!
(Trying to recover his dignity)
But what KIND of spyder? A pale skinny one that spins webs, or a sneaky one that pops out of a trap door, or a clever one that dives under the water with a silk bag full of air, or a big black hairy one that chases down its prey and overpowers it?

Re: The Arachnid Consortium
How about one that sits quietly in the middle of his (ever-growing) web of planets until someone pisses him off..... (you see, these spyders aren't matriarchical , hence the masculine pronouns).
I really liked the original Darlok pics from MOO I...kind of faceless, mysterious critters who could be your best friend or your worst enemy We can do a little anthropomorphism here

Re: The Arachnid Consortium
Hm, spiders eh? Sounds like a challenge.
20 bucks? Heh.
I'll see what I can do, but I am strictly a non-profit organization . E-mail me with your ideas.
