Default Where can you get specifics?

Is there somewhere where it tells you how much population affects reserach, affects mining, affects intellegence, prooduction ect? What about how much happiness effects these things? What kind of bonuses you get for building/researching/mining on your homeworld vs a colony? Or how much plantet conditions affect these things?

Basically where can I get the details?

Thanks

Ken

In SE4\Data\settings.txt, look for the lines:

Number Of Population Modifiers := 12
Pop Modifier 1 Population Amount := 99
Pop Modifier 1 Production Modifier Percent := 100
Pop Modifier 1 SY Rate Modifier Percent := 100
Pop Modifier 2 Population Amount := 499

These lines tell you the 'production' bonus for population--i.e. 5% at 100 M on up.

Production in this case means mineral, organic, radioactive, reseach and intel output of the planet.

I forget the happiness ones. Happy is 10% and jubilant is 20% but I don't know what file those are in or what the negative ones are.

Your homeworld starts out with 2000 M colonists which gives you a 30% production bonus. It will take a while before you get a colony that outproduces your homeworld. You can fit more people on a large (4000M) or huge (8000M) planet with an undomed colony. So, later in the game, you can get a better production bonus from population off your homeworld on a colony.

Planetary conditions affect the population growth, and you get bonuses for population.

Most of this isn't documented anywhere. But many folks have figured it out along the way.

Hope this helps.

Add->Se4\data\happiness.txt tells the plus/neg modifiers for happy/unhappiness and what causes happiness to go up and down.

Also from Data\Settings.txt:

Mood Riot Modifier := 0
Mood Angry Modifier := 80
Mood Unhappy Modifier := 90
Mood Indifferent Modifier := 100
Mood Happy Modifier := 110
Mood Jubiliant Modifier := 120

I haven't even found a listing for planet conditions, much less its effect on reproduction. Or how quickly a "Conditions Improvement Plant" will improve those conditions.
