Intel question
Should I keep Counter intel 1 and 2 in progress at the same time or is it enough to keep only Counter intel 2 in progress? I would appreciate other tips for using intel, for I haven't used it much before.

Re: Intel question
I think it's best to have the highest number of defensive intel on the left but never let other intel (defensive) projects finish...just save those points up in the projects to the right. Does that make sense?

Re: Intel question
You mean that ie. I keep Counter intel 3 at first, then I keep other projects and Lastly I have Counter Intel 1 and 2. Correct? Is this verified knowledge or just an opinion?

I think this is pretty much verified. Your Finnish brother, Asmala, has more details on it (numbers and so forth). But, defense 3 generates more defensive points than 1 or 2. Usually, a person sets up defensive intel and then later gets a higher level. But don't "throw away" those other points, just do defense 3 and save the others to the right of it.

Re: Intel question
Once you have counter intel 2, push your partially completed counter intel 1 to the back of the queue and don't do another darn thing with it. Let enemy offensive intel attacks deplete it till it is gone. The same recipe applies when you get counter intel 3.
Another thing, only feed points to one counter intel project at a time-- the one with the highest level you have and the fewest point accumulated.

Re: Intel question
CI points are consumed starting at the rightmost CI project and proceed left during a turn. Having the weakest CI project at the right is a good way to use those points without having them wasted. Hopefully you have at least a couple CI of projects going at all times with your points going in to a CI project of the highest available level. It's bese to have the leftmost CI project be of the highest available. When a CI project on the right is empty, you can safely delete it and replace it with one of the highest rating. See the Newbie FAQ for more details on this.

Re: Intel question
If I do an comm intercept against player A, selecting to intercept Messages with player B, is there any way for player B to stop this from happening? Any way Player B can find out that I intercepted his message?

Re: Intel question
The only player who's CI you ever have to go against is the first empire you select when starting the project. This goes for all projects.
I do not know if Player B would be given any notification, though I doubt that they would.
