Open Rated Challenge
I have plenty of points to "give" away. That's the enticement.
Lots of people think (or know) I win games by "luck of the draw". That's also enticement.
And, I have a game slot open. That's no big deal .
So, here is the deal:
Any rated player wiht at least one completed game can take the challenge under these game parameters:
ZERO racial points to distribute;
1 good starting homeworld;
Full tech at game start;
No intel;
No Ancient trait;
No Religious trait;
No Temporal trait;
One of the "larger" Tesco maps (made for KOTH games);
And (gentleman's agreement), no "openers" or "closers".
[edit] No ruins; no AI; any other setting not mentioned like KOTH.
48-hour turns.
First person to respond.

Re: Open Rated Challenge
Well, it shall be an interesting game. I made the parameters without any particular empire in mind (though I have played in a somewhat similar game...but put parameters in it that changed it a lot).
And Primitive and I have played a similar game.
So, I don't really know what I plan to do...I just thought it might be interesting.
All we need is someone to find one of the larger Tesco KOTH maps and set it up.
And I don't care what rating a person may have...if it's only a few games, then it could be a matter of a few pieces of bad luck.
I welcome you to the game!

Re: Open Rated Challenge
Maybe Asmala or Geo can find a Tesco map and set up the game parameters for us (hint, hint ).

Re: Open Rated Challenge
Slynky, go ahead and create the game on PBW and once you both are joined and have your .emp files uploaded I'll create the first turn. You can be the game owner though right?

Re: Open Rated Challenge
You know I get easily confused...
If I am the game owner...does that mean I will have the possibility of "cheating" (by running turn after turn at home and check out the map ahead of time...Asmala told me that could be done). If so, though I don't believe in cheating, I'd rather not put myself in a situation where it could even be questioned.

Re: Open Rated Challenge
Here it is.
Yep it's very easy to cheat if you know the game master password. Fortunately people here are generally sincere so it's not a big issue. But I think it's better if your opponent doesn't have to think of possible cheating.

Re: Open Rated Challenge
Ok. Actually I could have changed the game master password to something you didn't know and still made you game owner which would have avoided that problem. But if Asmala doesn't mind being game owner, so much the better.
