I don't have that many toys to play with Slynky, and for once I don't even use my Infamous Light Carriers, and I do feel naked without my reseach powerhouse behind me. Besides this, not much is going on for the moment being, but I like it this way. Perhaps we should consider a mutual alliance for prosperity and... Erh, not so I guess.

Alneyan without his Infamous Light Carriers?
I just can't imagine it.

Re: Rated Challenges Thread
Since no one else seems to be doing it...
2 x 2 Challenge (full tech) - Alneyan/Slynky vs Electrum/Parabolize
Year: 2405.5
2 turns now and blood has filled a few systems. The initial attack Last turn saw the fleet of Parabolize victorious but with sever losses. This game him an opening to our vulnerable systems...able to go on a rampage, so to speak.
Then the ensuing turn, while he added ships to his armada, a counter attack took place in two other systems...the overwhelming victory belonging to Alneyan...who has two fleets in position for a "riot run".
Despite the large ship losses, no point positions have been changed! Parabolize, lover of full-tech games, has remained in 1st place followed (closely?) by Alneyan. My pitiful self seems to be content in Last place while Electrum, a somewhat unproven player (though his rating and skills show promise) holds 3rd place.
The next few turns could be bloody indeed as secondary lines of defense have been solidified and other frontal attacks appear to be imminent.
Big questions! Defend? Fall back? Attack? Shift forces? It's an exciting game as most any full-tech game is. The (potential) victory can shift each turn.

Re: Rated Challenges Thread
2 x 2 Challenge (full tech) - Alneyan/Slynky vs Electrum/Parabolize
Year: 2406.0
Well, 5 turns since Last update and the good guys (that's Alneyan and me ) look to be ready for harvesting . A fleet (of Parabolize's) has broken through (with another 30+ ships behind it) a critical point in the map and it looks like we have no defenses in place to stop it.
Meanwhile, in the south, my ship building efforts seem to have been slow and any turn now, Electrum (who has been very silent) will break through and then there will be double trouble.
Sigh...looks like doom for the good guys. To make things even worse, Parabolize has taken the race I beat him with on 2 other full-tech games and flaunted his ability in my face . But I've always said he's a good player.

Re: Rated Challenges Thread
The Righteous Alliance has been indeed suffering against the Evil, Wicked, Nasty, Perfidious, Treacherous Foes of late. (Nay, I am not biased at all, it is truly the name of their alliance according to our Minister of Propaganda)
They managed to break through, bypassing our first line of defence, and our reserve fleet is all that stands between *them* and our worlds. But worry not, for the League shall save the day in this hour of dire need. We aren't quite sure how we will repel them, but we will, or like as not, we will die in the attempt.
In short, Slynky is unfortunately right, and I am afraid I do not see any light in the distance for our Alliance. At least, I would love to see the League raising a bit in the rankings, even by a single place. Would that be too much to ask before we fall? *Smirks*
Nevertheless, we are to keep on fighting, since the very idea of surrendering is adverse to our ideals. So for the Righteous Alliance, join in the fight to repulse the foes! Stand up for the League and all she stands for in her Last stand! Rally against the enemy, for we shall be in their thrall if we were to fall in this crucial moment! Drive them back, for we shall secure the throne of my sons and daughters and... Wait, that was my testament rather than my speech... Oh yes, I meant defend your freedom and your sovereign rights! Hold them at bay, as the League has been forced to put a mortgage upon our warships in order to repay her debts and my humble hundredth palace! Erh, you will remove this part before broadcasting my speech.
Varneshan the Undying making his Last speech, before a grievous accident occurred to him during the coup of 2406.

i have ended my challenge with Nodachi.
Due to the lack of turns... Last one was in Feb.
So that game can be killed... And I am the winner...

2x2 Challenge
turn 2406.2
Unless someone objects I think it is time for me to surrender
I dont know if the Pandora class ship is a star distroyer or not but it doesnt matter. 2 of my planets are not rioting, so from lack of resources my ~60 ships should be gone next turn.
Good game

Well, for certain I have been in the "all my planets are rioting" club at times. Not sure about how many ships can be "taken" each turn because it seemed I lost several per turn. But I also remember it scrapping units as well.
