Suggestions to Improve Ground Combat Engine
I have attached two methods to look at the suggestions, an HTML file and you can also download a zipped word document. I tried to frame the suggestions in pseudo code. I do not think it would be hard to implement, but would appreciate everyone's comments, especially the beta testers.

Re: Suggestions to Improve Ground Combat Engine
Looks really great. In addition, it would be nice to get more information on the evolution of the ground combat.

Re: Suggestions to Improve Ground Combat Engine
Hmm, some good ideas here (eg including planet bomardment in the outcome) but previous threads on this have tended to ask for more radical improvements along the lines of making ground combat more like space tactical combat. Although this would require more work, it would provide more reason to work on troop designs (for the moment there seems little point in having longer-ranged troop weapons since range does not seem to be an issue with the current system).
However the more people that email MM and comment on this forum on ground combat, the more likely they will take it up for their next patch (please???)

Re: Suggestions to Improve Ground Combat Engine
That happiness modifier is okay, but I'd also add a modifier that affects an empire's relations with other empires. Higher for the targeted empire, of course, but the other neighbors should be a bit wary of someone who nukes planets til they glow.
Adding an intelligence project called "propaganda" to mitigate this would be nice. You know a load of bs saying that your commanders on the field exceeded their orders, a nice being like you wouldn't do such a thing, etc.

Re: Suggestions to Improve Ground Combat Engine
Mark Pavlou,
I read the prevous radical improvements. Although I like them I thought MM implementing them for SEIV would be very hard, so I tried to think of some improvements that could be easily implemented in SEIV.
Sinapus,
I like the addition of the empire relation modifier, but do not known exactly how to implement it, but MM probably does-If he decides to make this modification.
