CD Music
Greets all. I've been a long time reader here, first time poster.
I was happy to get my copy of SE IV today (yay!). I was wondering if anyone was having trouble with the CD Music?
I have the CD Music On option On, yet I have no music. What's the deal? I have the other sounds, but no music. Now music isn't a must ofr this game of course, but i'd like the option of at least hearing it. Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: CD Music
Hi
I hit F2 and went to Options, where I saw that CD Music was turned off. So I turned it on, exited back to the game, and still had no music. So I shrugged and went back to my game. 15 or 20 minutes later, the music suddenly started playing...

Re: CD Music
I played the game for over 2 hours and the music never came on, despite the option being choosen. I tried running the CD through on the Windows CD player and the music, 15 tracks worth, plays fine there. It looks like there is an program error. Should I write Malfador or Shrapnel?
Thanks.

Re: CD Music
Hi there, hevenīt the game yet, but this
sounds funny because I had the same bug with
a swedish game (Europa Universalis; donīt buy). Most people had the same problem with
the sound turning on only after 10-15 minutes.
They fixed it with a patch. So I would recommend reporting it to Mal-Mac.

Re: CD Music
I had the same problem, except it never turned on at all. Didbn't realize it, though. I always have WinAmp playing in thee background, listening to my own music. Once I realized the bug, I went in and disabled the CD Music.
BTW, GREAT GAME! I draw comparisons to SMAC in that I always have time for one more turn. Addictive as hell, deep and challenging. I hope it gets the recognition it deserves.

Re: CD Music
BTW the actual game music files won't be found on the CD as files. The CD is a multi-session CD and the music is actually burnt into several tracks like a regular music CD.
So if you don't find music files on the CD that does not mean you have a bad CD.

Re: CD Music
Interesting point, Richard. I just checked, and Winamp does not see the music on the CD at all.
HOWEVER, CDEX, an MP3 ripper (cough, cough) *does* see the music tracks on the CD, and its built-in player plays them fine.
Bottom line here: I have no complaints at all!

Re: CD Music
Hi Ashberry,
how many of those people who say it is a good game have already played it ?
I have bought my copy directly from the german publisher and started playing it directly on release day. Now it is lying somewhere on the floor. If you are interested I can specify what I donīt like.
Greetings
Ferendra
