Default Playing it and my views/suggestions

I received the game today and I started to play it as soon as downloaded. The game is fun to play.

I hope to give more feedback to this post as I continue to play over the next few days. The one thing that irked me so far is the small inventory, the inability for arrows to stack over 8, and the fact that I could not pause the game with space bar...so I can see more of what is attacking me rather then just killing it.

One other nice feature would have been for the melee classes to attack any creature automatically when attacked...or some type of scripting for this or casting spells or using ranged attacks automatically when monsters appear.

I must say that the graphics are very nicely done (I love the cartoony look).

Great suggestions! It just so happens that the first patch covers all of these:

1. Bigger inventory size.
2. All arrow, bolts, and bullets stack.
3. You can use the spacebar to pause the game.

We're shooting for a release next week!

Aaron

Excellent to hear about the patch. Will we be able to patch it without losing our save games?

As far as I know, you will have to start a new game to take advantage of the new features, but simply export your character and then 'revive' him/her at the start of the game on the Character creation screen.

The good news is, your previous experience will help you get through the initial levels much quicker. You do remember where everything was right?

Cheers!

One of the things that I wish could be done in the game is not so much as altering the game iteself but giving more specific examples to modying for the people who do not know how to mod the game (this includes me sigh).

The only game I was able to alter was TAK: Kingdoms, because the community there gave step by step directions in making mods (one person actually did this for one of the units he created as an example...(it was called "big bertha").

I wish the people who can are familiar with the game do something like this at one point so that I (and perhaps someone else called "dummy" in this board) can really understand it.

Speaking for myself, I'm just getting the hang of creating 15x15 tile maps in the tile-editor. The first thing I'm working on is a whole new set of town tiles. When it's done I'll offer it as an alternate to the one that comes with the Crown of the magi. I'll of course offer it as a new module (so that the original doesn't get killed by accident.) I'll probably call it CotM-b

I'll see about documenting the process I go through to make the new town. But don't expect it to be a pulitzer winning document! lol

I'm aiming to get it done by the time Aaron gets back from his trip. Hopefully he'll be pleasantly surprized!

Cheers!
