A special bonus for everyone on the thread:
Mark has kindly given me permission to give you a quick synopsis of the scenarios in the game. Don't take the forces listed too literally, I haven't accounted for all the events (you have to have SOME surprises!):
A Friend in Need (5/69)(US army v. VC/NVA) - yup, the demo scenario'll be in there!
Ap Bac (1/2/63)(ARVN v. VC) - the watershed of the M113...
Assault on Ben Suc (1/68)(US army v. VC) - what if the CA into Ben Suc had found VC? (yup, you read that right - lotsa helicopters in this one!)
Catecka Tea Plantation (11/12/65)(VC/NVA v. US army/ARVN) - the "big" one. Not the whole battle, but a good-sized chunk of it. Lotsa maps and plenty of troops. Oh, and you get to try the night rules.
Prelude to Lang Vei (11/14/65)(NVA v. SOG/ARVN) - what if troops from Lang Vei had patrolled more aggressively before the attack? (a hint... they might have found NVA armor...)
River of Perfume (2/6/68)(VC v. USMC) Tet! 2/5 in Hue, fighting to take buildings from the VC. The smallest scenario in Module 1, but a nail biter that frequently comes down to the Last turn.
Serious Firepower (5/1/68)(USMC v. NVA) Dai Do! This is the attack where the Americans brought TANKS! (none of this sissy Amtrac stuff
If you like big guns, this is the scenario for you. And you know what? It doesn't matter whether you're the USMC or NVA...
Skysoldiers (11/3/65)(US Army v. NVA) During the fighting in the Ia Drang, a 19-man American aerorifle platoon captured the field hospital for the NVA 33d Regiment. With an entire NVA BATTALION camped around them, the riflemen (and intelligence personnel) spent their time searching for intelligence information and seizing NVA supplies. In the afternoon, the battalion launched a spoiling attack to cover its withdrawal. Needless to say, the Americans were SCREAMING for reinforcements and fire support. Both of which they get... but does it arrive in time?
Streets of Sorrow (2/4/68)(USMC v. VC) More streetfighting in Hue. For Marine players who liked River of Perfume, but wanted more fire support... well, how about ONTOS! But the objectives seem very far away when you're trying to navigate around 60mm mortar fire and 12.7mm machinegun rounds.
The Relief of Plei Me (11/65)(ARVN v. NVA) The NVA think they can handle the ARVN armored relief column. Are they right?
Tread Heads (4/10/68)(US Army v. NVA) Ever wanted to roll down an open, exposed highway that may/may not have NVA lying in wait with anti-tank weapons? Well, this is your chance! (and for those of you who've ever wanted to ambush tanks with infantry, you have something to enjoy here too!)
Undeniable Courage (11/14/65) (US Army v. NVA) Only a couple hundred meters north of X-Ray, Herrick's platoon fights to survive against an overwhelming number of NVA! Upgraded from the demo Version and a real classic - this one has serious replay value, folks (I should know, I've played it FTF more than any other LnL scenario).
Unexpected Visitors (5/2/68) (US Army v. NVA/VC) With the Marines busy at Dong Ha, the task of clearing Nhi Ha falls to the US Army. But this isn't the only game in town...
Enjoy!
