Any word on the RCE\'s in the ME
I can't build anything with the ME. Everytime I try to do something I get a RCE.
I will send the file to MM if any one thinks it will help.
All I did was GENERATE a map.
When I tried to edit a planet, I got a RCE.
I shut it down and tried it again. Same thing.
After trying differant things for an hour, I gave up. Sorry to say this, but me thinks the ME is still broken.

Re: Any word on the RCE\'s in the ME
Are you sure you didn't delete a system... even before generating the map... I've gotten RCE's that way.
OHHHH, wait a minute, I seem to recall someone posting that if you use anything but Ancient and mid-life (I think), with over 150 systems set in systems.txt it generates a RCE... could that be the reason?

Re: Any word on the RCE\'s in the ME
Atrocities: Did ya change the planet name? If ya do, you'll get RCE/Access errors unless you keep the Roman numeral after whatever you change the planet name to. I found that out the hard way myself.
As an example I changed the name of a system to Sol then added the actual planet names. When I named Sol I to Mercury, I would get RCE until I changed name to Mercury I.
Hope this helps.

Re: Any word on the RCE\'s in the ME
I deleted warp points and a few planets. I did not attempt to rename them as I recalled reading about RCE's being cuased by that. You know what, I have been up over 24 hours now. I am beat. I'm going to bed now. Thanks for the help guys. You all have a great day.

Re: Any word on the RCE\'s in the ME
What is RCE? Some kind of Run Time Error?
What is ME? Map Editor?

Re: Any word on the RCE\'s in the ME
I noticed RCE errors occured any time I attempted to add planets/asteriod belts when any warp points existed in the system.
Basically I didn't have problems as long as:
1) didn't go over 254 systems (hadn't checked this one)
2) create all suns first
3) create all planets/belts/Sphereworlds second
4) storms third
5) In system warp points Last.
^-- did notice that warp points in another system pointing towards the system being edited had no effect on RCE (in other words; delete insystem warp points and put them back after you are finished with the system).
