Is it just me or...
Are the threads listed backwards here? Like for a multi page thread, the first post will be at the bottom of the Last page instead of the top of the first like most message Boards.
Is there a way to change this in your profile? I looked, but didnt see a way.
Thanks

You are right. They started out at the end and then post to the top.
This takes some getting used to...but really...when you're following a topic...you generally (or, to speak for myself, I) want to read the most recent Posts. And this organization allows you to do that without having to scroll to the end or click the Last page.

Well yeah it just takes some getting used to I guess. Still, a strange thing given that I have never encountered another message board that does this (and I have seen a ton of message Boards lol). Its sort of like top-posting in usenet, which seems to hack people off to no end.

Re: Is it just me or...
Thing I found was after reading this board for a while I go to other Boards and automatically check the first post to see the most recent.
My main dislike of the system here (besides having to get used to it) is if there's a thread with a few pages and there's a lot of activity when I'm away. It means it's hard to find the point where the read Posts end and the unread start. On a regular forum you can just remember that you were at page 5 Last time you browsed, but here what's on page 5 one day isn't necessarily the on page 5 the next.

You have a "jump to new Posts" link (if you're logged in) in each thread. All you need to do is make sure the board remembers which are now "old" - I just go to "my profile" and "update new Posts" before I quit.
Then, there's the "next thread" link, which will take you to the next thread with unread Posts. I tend to start at the OLDEST thread with new Posts, and move to "next"; only, if you post a message, you'll get taken back to the thread afterward, and there will be no "next" thread, since the one you are on has the newest post. To avoid this, I prepare all Posts in separate browser windows and only post them when I'm done reading...
(Not sure if this makes sense to others than me; it's a bit hard to explain)

Ah, I hadn't noticed that link - thanks for pointing it out. Though I'd still far prefer to use memory
Finding the actual threads with new Posts isn't so much an issue as I find the little red pin icons on the main forum page fine for that.
