Ringworld Creation Dire Confusion
Okay, oracles, help me out here:
I have a system where I have created:
10 cablemaker starbases (each worth 2,000kt cables)
10 plate making starbases (each worth 2,000kt plating)
a medium average star, circling it I have:
(1)ringer class starbase with a ringworld placement generator.
Why can I still not construct a ringworld??? help is appreciated.
thanks

Re: Ringworld Creation Dire Confusion
They are all in the STAR's sector, right? And unmothballed?

Re: Ringworld Creation Dire Confusion
circuling the star looking really nice, and useless.
Star is a medium average medium star. Have tried ringworld make right on top of it and one sprite block away. Still nothing.

I don't know if this is the cause (I even doubt it) but you build too may cables and platings! For ringworlds you only need 5 each!
Do you get to the menu stellar manipulation? Or where exactely you get stopped?

It dosn't matter IF you have too many BUT they ALL have to be in the star sector go to the stelar manip (?) and hit construct
(sorry spelling not a good point)

Re: Ringworld Creation Dire Confusion
From your description , It sounds like you built them around the star? if so - start over and build them in the same sector as the star.

Re: Ringworld Creation Dire Confusion
Am I correct in understanding, then, that I have to construct ALL of the stuff right on top of the star?

Re: Ringworld Creation Dire Confusion
Correct. Also remember that the ringworld (and sphereworlds) only take up one tactical square themselves.

Re: Ringworld Creation Dire Confusion
Okay, stacking exactly on top of the sun works. Thanks to everyone for the input.

Re: Ringworld Creation Dire Confusion
As for ring vs sphereworlds.
Is there any way to destroy a ringworld or upgrade it to a sphereworld?
If not, then what is the point of the ringworld? With a little extra effort and no extra time, you get 2x the return...
