Re: question about the Abysia/Blood of Humans theme
What is the heat preference of blood of humans?
1, 2 or 3 or even 0?
I see that all units are 100% fire resistent so I would guess its 3, but I would feel much better if someone helps me

Re: question about the Abysia/Blood of Humans theme
Preference is 3, but there is a restriction on dominion at heat 2.

Ah, thank you.
The units look quite nice, and the sacred infantry demand some serious blessing .

Re: question about the Abysia/Blood of Humans theme
Hmm, now basic Abysia has to pay more for blood saves (how much more I'm not sure of yet).BoH can still hunt very well. but being restritcted to Heat 2, loses 40 points and takes an economic hit compared to basic. And they both lose the great Warlock. Not sure I like this patch for Abysia but we'll see. Although to be fair, it did nerf blood hunting universally for eveyone but Mictlan and maybe one or two other nations.

However, the BoH Smouldercone raises Heat, so you'll get back Heat 3 in your capitol (at least most of the time). You still take the hit in other provinces though (and get fewer design points compared to standard Abysia).
But the Sanguine Acolyte is great - he's just what Abysia needed. 100 cost, blood 1, holy 2. BoH now has a blood machine to rival Mictlan (and normal Abysia still has to limp along with the 150 cost, non-sacred, capitol-only Apprentice Warlock - which BoH gets too, but I haven't seen a good reason to build yet; maybe a communion slave, since Sabbath Slave costs a blood slave every battle).
The Newt would be a great researcher in a magic scale - except that BoH isn't allowed to take a magic scale. So he's an OK researcher. DO NOT take drain as BoH - or if you do, prepare to have very little research unless you find a Library. Their two main research candidates are both research 3.
The Sanguine Anathemant is nice too - only slightly weaker magically than a Demonbred (1 Fire 2 Blood 3 Holy), although not flying, and only 220 gold - but I find his icon confusing. He looks thin like the Newt and Sanguine Acolyte (which are both humanbreds), but is actually a pureblood and radiates heat (and is capitol only). Why doesn't he look fat like the Salamander, Dragon and Warlocks? I actually lit a Spine Devil on fire because I forgot he was a heat radiator (btw, Spine Devils are better than most people give them credit for, and the Sanguine Anathemant is a good spine devil factory at 220 gold sacred = 7 maintenance).
I'm also having fun with the new Axe Thrower. Axes are less precise than javelins and with less ammo (2), but have higher base damage and even a Humanbred throws harder than a human, which gives the axes some very nice hitting power. Like javelins, friendly fire isn't a huge concern because of the short range, and the Axe Thrower is also a decent infantryman after he's thrown his two axes. He's not quite a Daoine Sidhe, but for 14 gold, he's pretty good.
The biggest bad thing I've found so far with BoH: their starting gem income is only 4 (fire, from the Smouldercone). Was the Temple Sanguine intended to produce a blood slave or two and that got accidentally left out? The only other nation that produces only 4 gems (AFAIK) is Mictlan, which produces 3 slaves to make up for it.
