Water Blessing Borked?
I'm using Version 2.11 and I just tried the water blessing effect at level 9 ( and at 10 ) and I did not get the haste effect.
Is this borked? I'm sure I would have seen more threads on it if it was. Has anyone else seen this?

Re: Water Blessing Borked?
It works for me. I'm using w9 a6 on void things ;0 +def and +speed for the tramplers, 6 air for some air shield. What are you trying to bless?

Re: Water Blessing Borked?
Did your pretender have 9 water to begin with? Boosting the magic later doesnt get you the blessings as far as I understand it.

Re: Water Blessing Borked?
Yupper my pretender has water 9 from construction ( it's like turn 6 or something like that).
The plus to defence works dandy. But the quickness does not seem to be taking hold.
I have tried it with a number of pretenders and a number of troops. For all of them they get the + to defence but not the quickness ( which is a shame, it's a hard blessing to get but probably the best one ).

Re: Water Blessing Borked?
Ah I see the problem. It's not quickness ( double action points +3 attack + 3defence ) it's quickness meaning somelike like +50% or so movement factors.
Maybe they are also getting x2 the number of attacks, but I can't see it. I know ( or at least I think I know ... all I know is what the UI shows me ) they are not getting a bonus to attack/defence from the quickness.

Re: Water Blessing Borked?
yeah, you can tell at a glance if you have quickness applied by the movement points of the unit.

If you mean "from construction" as in from the way you made him then you should be getting the effects when you cast blessing.
If you mean "from construction" as in you made him a ring or robe or something that took him to 9 water, then you dont.

You do get extra actions, but only 50% of quickness, that is 2 actions every second turn.

Ahh so my troops are attacking 50% more. That's pretty decent. Too bad about the plus to attack and defence though. That would have rocked ( almost game breaking, actually, but that is what I was looking for since getting a water blessing effect is so costly for most races ).
Now if Illwinter added a new pretender who had like water 2 or ( shudder ) water 3 right off the bat and was availiable to all nations, and did not cost too much ( hell I would not even mind if it was immobile ) that would be *great*. I would probabaly use this strategy, a lot.
However the cost currently is just too much for what I get. The resultant troops sure are FANTASTIC, but they are just not quite enough to make up for the cost.

Re: Water Blessing Borked?
well, don't forget that water 9 already comes w/ a +4 bonus to defense, which is in itself pretty awesome for certain sacred troops.
As well, the water-9 50% quickness is a great blessing for your sacred mages, if you're playing such a race, and for your priest squads when banishing undead.
its the best all-round blessing, IMO.

Re: Water Blessing Borked?
Also, if a path was worth it _just_ for the bless effect, that would be a balance problem. To get your points' worth, you need to use the magic power as a magic power, too...
