Default Puppet Mastery?

Puppet Mastery supposedly "quickens the vines" of Carrion Woods manikins. I'm presuming that means that the move / Action Points get increased.

Magic Resistance negates it - so you can't expect it to effect every manikin, although the spell says that it will affect "most".

But with 3 castings of Puppet Mastery, movement and action points don't change on any of 40 assorted manikins. Nothing else indicates any changed status either.

If it's supposed to make them somehow walk faster on the map without affecting the APs, it seems that there still ought to be some indicator of which, if any, manikins it affected.

Anyone been playing CW Pangaea enough to know what's up? (Just ran it in a blitz game Last night - my first time with CW, and have been running tests in SP this morning.)

Grazie.

Default Re: Puppet Mastery?

I haven't played carrion woods very much so im not sure this is how it works but i this is how i think it works.
It gives increased speed (double i think)for most maninkins, but only the turn you cast the spell next turn they are all back to normal speed again. Perhaps that is why it dosn't show any increase in action points. As far i have been able to see it dosn't give you any extra attacks so i would suggest you cast it once or possibly twice to quickly get the manikins to reach the enemy ranks and then go for other spells.

It's like Haste I suppose. The move allowance is doubled, but the stats don't change. Like if every square on the battlefield costs 1 move point instead of the normal 2. No more attacks, no more spells however. And (like other Pangaea unholy spells) it affects all undeads I think, not only "moss" carrions (unfortunately Vine Men, Vine Ogres and Dark Vines are not affected since they are not undead, but that's illogical IMHO!).
Cheers
