Som good small map?
I play with other 2 friends: could you suggest me some good small map to play with?. We are playing with Orania, are there similar (pretty and well built) maps to download?
Thank you

Re: Som good small map?
No, but I am playing with 3 friends on Urgaia (i think Urgaia comes with the game) and it works well so far, but we'd appreciate another 4 player map as well for the next round...
In addition, someone plays R'yleh and the map should not be any smaller for four, so Urgaia might be about right for three landlubbers...
I think the idea with icons on the "Cradle of Dominions"-Map is so cool, but the map is just too big for four (at least if someone insists in playing low-magic-high-steel nation). If I only knew how to paint...

Re: Som good small map?
PS: Bye the way, does anybody else find it annoying that the game doesnt list the number of provinces for the maps? You always have to click on a map to see how many provinces are there, that is, if the designer wrote it down in the descripion.
I just compiled a spreadsheet for the maps containing the name, provinces, sea and player recommendation. If some is interesed, I can email it...

Re: Som good small map?
Orania is small? Well the best advice I can give is to download the lot of them since there ain't that many. That said Parganos, Harsh Land of Io and Sea & Sky are all good maps you can finish in about a day. My own variant of Andrew J. Osborns Cirlani map (at Arryns site) was created with for three players on land and one in the water. Illwinters map page is usually descriptive enough that you can see what map would be a good choice.

Re: Som good small map?
In addition to Urgaia and Cirlani, the Sundering, Britain, and Farthing maps (68, 61 and 101 provinces) would be good for a small 3/4 player game.
Parganos is beautiful - but with 135 provinces, it might be a little large for the quick game I think is desired.
Side note, to whomever wished it was possible to see the number of provinces more easily - what I've done is gone into the ".map" text files, and modified the #dom2title lines. This lets you see the number of provinces without even clicking on the map.
For example :
#dom2title Parganos - 135 provinces

Re: Som good small map?
Well of course there are always the GOOD maps at www.illwinter.com/Dom2
Or there are the "I dont care I just want a map" sites which generate new maps every day.
