Tactic : how to fight undead ?
Hi people,
In a grand newbie style, I am using the Order Of Light (Altenberg) race, and fighting enmor. Problem is : they are swarming me with score of undeads and I am slowly loosing ground.
It is more and more difficult to replace my casualties, they are grinding me down.
And the killer is : it is an easy AI (boooh shame to me !)
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong ?

Perhaps you can tell us what you have been trying. It is kind of hard to say what you are doing wrong or offer good suggestions without knowing what you have been doing
Btw, it is no shame to lose to Easy AI, especially Ermor AI. When it comes down to it, Easy Ermor AI is difficult for the other AI nations to handle even if these are Impossible AIs. So if left unchecked by human player early on, the Ermor Easy AI has good chance of absorbing territory from other AI nations and gain tremendous strength when you finally face them.

Re: Tactic : how to fight undead ?
What seems to be one of the more popular tactics against Ermor is "driveby priesting". Attacking with dozens of cheap priests put on banish*5 and then flee. Knowing that the storm will come sooner or later it's usually a good idea create a stockpile of priests as soon as first contact is made with Ermor. Priests, being commanders, are not affected by starvation. A good thing when you need to take the battle to Ermor HQ.

Re: Tactic : how to fight undead ?
In any case, priests are the key. Each army should contain many, many priest. build as many as you can. Then set them on banishx5.
This is why the AI does so badly against Ermor. Not enough priest.

Re: Tactic : how to fight undead ?
Bring on a Priest factory and just crank out score of Priests to banish a swarm of undead...
Of course....feeling stupid.....

Re: Tactic : how to fight undead ?
If you're up against Ashen Ermor, with skeletons and ghouls and whatnot, then missile weapons are also pretty effective, since most of their troops move slowly and their only ranged attacks are javelins.
If it is Soul Gate Ermor you are fighting this won't be nearly as effective since the arrows will have a hard time damaging their ethereal troops. But any sort of area effect damage spell should be useful, like say Holy Pyre, or perhaps Blade Wind.
But of course you'll want lots and lots of priests no matter what.

Re: Tactic : how to fight undead ?
People have already mentioned buying Priests. Treat Priests as elite units. They cost less than most single cavalry units. Have a minumum of 10 per army. They are also great for driving down Ermor dominion, which determines how many units Ermor gets.
Your main goal should be to keep your priests alive and banishing for as long as possible. Get some meat shields in front of them. Summoned mindless units are perfect (vinemen, vine orges, Mechanical Men, your own undead, etc.). Heavy in fantry works well too. Your biggest worry for your meat shields is that they will rout.
Get a bunch of archers too. I prefer archers over crossbowmen versus Ermor, since penetrating hogh protection armor is not the main problem. Massed archers even work versus Soul Gate, since ethereal units have very low protection, and 25% of missles get through the ethereal.
