How are commanders ordered in the "t"-view and on the left?
I often have problems with finding and keeping track of my commanders in a province once I hit 3- or 4-columns worth of commanders (about 12+). When I have 25+, it drives me bonkers.
The game obviously doesnt order them alphabetically, nor by type. And I have been trying to figure it out, but I dont think it is chronologically either (either the order in which they enter the province or the order in which they were recruited/summoned).
Anyone know?
I wish it would be EITHER
1. alphabetically or
2. according to type
3. both (great)
Would that be actually hard to do?

I'm not sure, but I think they are ordered by the amount of experience they have.

I believe that it orders them by a unique commander indentification number that is invisible to the player. The order you see them in on the province screen is the order that they will act in on the battlefield.

I think its by a secret number showing their creation time in the game.
There was a key you could hit, CTRL-something? that would pop up alittle info screen on a commander. I thouight it was on there. I cant find it now. Doesnt seem to show on the ? screen in the game

It's Shift-I and it shows the Monster # and weapon #'s if you are looking for the Information screen.

That's the number of the monster type, not the ID number of the character in the game.

Would it be possible to mod this so that it orders them in a way that makes more sense (to me), such as by type and then alphabetically?

Well, the current order *DOES* make sense: They're sorted in ID order, which is the order they will cast in during battle: Tactically, this can be very important.
What *I* would like to see is some means of viewing this internal number, so that moves between mages originating from different provinces that are grouping together at a single target can be coordinated: Right now, if the mages are in different provinces, there's no way to tell who casts first.
