ATTN: Geo
Geo, I just posted a bug report to the Elimination Tourney Round 1 Game 5 game forum on Admiral's PBW site. See there for details.

Re: ATTN: Geo
I read your post Cap'n. Why don't you put the details here about what happened.
I suspect it's a SEIV problem instead of a PBW problem. Maybe someone here has heard of it.

Re: ATTN: Geo
Details:
I'm in one of the Elimination Tournament games on Admiral's PBW site. On my Last turn, I ordered a ship to retrofit to a new design which I had just created. When the turn results came back, the ship had been retrofitted not to the design I'd ordered, but to a different design with a class name from one of the other players' files. The refitted ship included a component that I haven't researched yet, and this class doesn't appear anywhere in my F3 reports.
I suspect that the problem was caused by the design being created on the same turn as the retrofit order. That works in a sequential game, but I'm thinking that in simultaneous, SE IV tried to do the retrofit before the design file was updated, and sent off the wrong pointer for the design. This theory would also explain the other retrofit problem I had earlier in the game, which I'd attributed to the known retrofit problems in simultaneous games that have already been reported on these Boards. On the first retrofit I tried, the turn came back with a warning in the Log that the retrofit had failed because the ships were not the same size. (The second retrofit I tried worked perfectly.)
Has anybody else seen retrofit behavior like this in simultaneous games?

Re: ATTN: Geo
capnq -
Would you please please be so kind as to post a summary of known retrofit problem here for my education?
I am in that tourney too, (Game 1), and I've never played SiMove before. Add that to the fact that I like to retrofit a lot, and you've got one nervous marsupial

Re: ATTN: Geo
Well, there's actually some debate as to exactly how the problem manifests, but as I understand it, you cannot retrofit more than one design per location per turn. (Location = sector with shipyard, AFAICT, but it might just be shipyard.) There's disagreement over whether you can retrofit multiple ships to the same design at one location. I've been testing different combinations as I play, and so far I have successfully retrofitted two identical ships at two different shipyards in the same system in the same turn.
Search the forums for the words "retrofit simultaneous" for more details. [Ignore the 21 page thread about the Pirate mod. ]
